The first few episodes did not have much of a plot or story line. It was an audience participation comedy show focused on Weiner and his puppets and about them making a show. Nickelodeon Weinerville was filmed at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios Florida. According to Marc, the cancellation happened because Nickelodeon was changing their identity from family friendly to edgy, sarcastic, and somewhat subversive shows, and a puppet show did not fit with the network's new direction of programming. Unfortunately with all the success of hosting two seasons, three television specials, and especially hitting a milestone for being the show to tape its 1000th episode at Nickelodeon Studios, Weinerville was not renewed for a third season. Marc and his Weinerville characters hosted Nick New Year's in 19.įor the 40-episode second season, premiered on March 21, 1994, the episodes aired daily and were later part of the Stick Stickly show Nick in the Afternoon, which included Marc as Dottie in some segments. As a result, Nickelodeon allowed Marc and his characters to host a New Year's special event, a kids' version of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve titled Nick New Year's, with host segments serving as wraparounds for the best Nicktoons and shows of that year, and read letters from kids about their New Year's resolutions as they counted down to midnight, then celebrated by shooting slime into the sky. However, Weinerville quickly gained popularity in the middle of the first season, November 15, 1993, Nickelodeon began running the show on weekday afternoons. In the show's first season, all episodes ran in a two-hour marathon every Sunday. The show was created and hosted by Marc Weiner. The show was based around a giant puppet stage that was designed to look like a city called Weinerville. Weinerville is an American television program on Nickelodeon that was aired from Jto 1994.

Overall this is a science fiction gem that isn't perfect but is very entertaining for a 1930s picture. Ming was perfect in this with a good mix of diabolical and arrogance. The monster in the cave was cool and the fight with the guy in the gorilla suit was hilarious and fun. The acting is actually very good as are the props, costumes and sets. The invading planet is so well created and contains fun landscapes and creatures, with the creatures made up of people in suits and iguanas. The storyline for this is classic science fiction and while very straight forward it's executed well. Hill (Shadow of Chinatown) and stars Buster Crabbe (Buck Rogers), Jean Rogers (Charlie Chan in Panama), Charles Middleton (Duck Soup), Priscilla Lawson (Rose Bowl) and Frank Shannon (Blonds at Work). This movie is codirected by Ford Beebe (The Invisible Man's Revenge) and Robert F. Flash Gordon is a scientist who believes he can fly into space, land on the invading planet and stop it from destroying Earth. His planet is also filled with all kinds of strange and unique aliens from other planets he's conquered. Ming looks to use his planet much like the Death Star to destroy Earth. The storyline follows a planet fast approaching Earth led by Ming the Merciless. Rocket Ship (1938) is a spin-off of the original Flash Gordon series and a movie I recently watched on Tubi.
